Children’s Educational Toys is essential for the optimal development of the children. Have you ever noticed that every children play. If a child does not like to play, then immediately adults will be worried. It was Maria Montessori who said, “Play is the work of children.”

Play is so important that even the United Nation recognised it as a specific right to the children’s right. However, in today’s world, children’s opportunities for play are fast changing. They form the foundation of the children’s intellectual, social, physical and emotional skills for the children’s success in school and future. Block building and sand and water play develop the children’s foundation for logical and mathematical thinking, reasoning and problem solving. In playing with educational toys, children learn to combine their ideas, impressions and intuitions with their experiences and opinions. Children create ideas about their world and share them with other peers. This process of play and learning stimulates one another in early childhood.

It is not difficult to get children to play with educational toys. It is getting the children to stop playing which will is difficult. There are many children’s educational toys available today, and some of these educational toys definitely stimulate the mind more than others.

Parents and early childhood educator should be creative when choosing children’s educational toys. The educational toys need not necessary be expensive. A cardboard box provides hours of creative play than other expensive children’s educational toys. Some other educational toys are good in concept but are either too flimsy or dull.

We have some suggestions on selecting children’s educational toys. Firstly, it is important to note that children have different intelligences worth developing, so, not all kids love traditional children’s educational toys, like science experiments. Secondly, not all children’s educational toys are suitable for both boys and girls. Doll houses are such example.
